marketing for small businesses trying to stay in right relationship with our humans.
marketing is often a loaded topic.
Most small business owners don’t actually hate marketing. They hate what it’s become. They hate the pressure to perform. The urgency. The pretending. The sense that you have to strip your work of context and politics and humanity in order to sell it.
And honestly? Good.
A lot of what passes for marketing is gross. It asks you to treat your business like it exists outside of the world — outside of genocide, climate collapse, layoffs, rent hikes, childcare costs, grief. It asks you to optimize instead of relate. To convert instead of connect. To separate your values from your strategy.
Of course that feels bad!
join us MARCH 10, comrade!
this series is about doing marketing differently.
It’s about finding your voice in a sea of panic and noise — not to shout louder, but to speak clearly. It’s about knowing you have something real to offer and believing that sharing it, in right relationship, might actually be part of the antidote to this moment.
We’ll focus on websites and email because they are durable. You can own them. They don’t cost much. And the underlying strategy isn’t shifting every 72 hours because some tech platform changed the rules without telling you.
Wherever you are — brand new, burned out, mid-pivot, quietly rebuilding — this series is here to help you build marketing infrastructure that pays the bills without asking you to abandon your humanity.

what you’ll learn in this 6-week series
Each session builds on the last, helping you create a relationship-building plan that works for you. All sessions are recorded so it's totally cool if you can't make all of them live!
Week 1 — Marketing and Sales
We’ll separate marketing from sales.
Marketing is about helping people understand your work.
Sales is about inviting someone to engage it.
They’re different. When we blur them together, things get rushed.
Week 2 — Your Website
We’ll treat your website as infrastructure.
A steady place where your work lives.
A place people can land and understand what you do.
We’ll look at what actually needs to be on a homepage, how to structure it clearly, and how to write in language that feels like you.
Week 3 — SEO
We’ll look at SEO in simple terms.
Clear language. Clear structure.
The phrases your people are already using.
This isn’t about tricks or paid ads.
It’s about making your work easier to find without changing how you speak.
Week 4 — Email
We’ll focus on email as a way to stay in touch over time.
What to send.
How often.
How to keep it simple.
The goal is a rhythm you can maintain — not something that takes over your week.
Week 4 — Setting Up Email
We’ll focus on the behind-the-scenes structure.
Choosing a platform.
Setting up basic automations.
Creating a simple, maintainable system.
This week is technical in a calm way. We build the tools.
Week 5 — Writing the Emails
Now we write.
What to send.
How to structure it.
How to inform and invite without urgency or performance.
You’ll draft emails you can actually use.
Week 6 — Integration + Q&A
We’ll bring everything together.
Website.
SEO.
Email.
How it works as a system instead of isolated tasks.
We’ll also make space for questions that have surfaced over the previous weeks — and adjust what needs adjusting.
who this series is for
Anti-capitalist small business owners — or those moving in that direction — who want marketing that reflects their politics and their actual lives.
People who are tired of pretending their business exists outside of economic collapse, climate crisis, and community care.
Folks who want to pay their bills, stay in right relationship, and build something durable.
You don’t need a large audience.
You don’t need a polished brand.
You don’t need to love marketing.
You just need to be willing to build infrastructure instead of performance.
why anti-capitalist-rooted support is different
Most marketing support is built around growth. The assumption is that you should always be expanding, increasing revenue, reaching more people, optimizing more systems. Profit becomes the primary metric, and everything else is secondary.
Anti-capitalist-rooted support starts from a different premise. It assumes your business exists inside real relationships — to your community, to your labor, to the broader political and economic systems we’re all operating within. It assumes sustainability matters. Capacity matters. Right relationship matters.
That doesn’t mean money doesn’t matter. It does. You need income. But income isn’t treated as the only measure of success, and you’re not asked to suspend your values in order to generate it.
In this series, we won’t pretend your marketing is neutral. We won’t treat your business like it exists outside of what’s happening in the world. And we won’t default to tactics that rely on pressure or extraction simply because they’re common.
We’ll build systems that support your livelihood while staying aligned with what you actually believe.
